Subdivision Project Success – Thrive, Dakabin – On-Time and On Budget

Unison Projects’ “Thrive, Dakabin” reached a major milestone with the completion of the sub-division works this week which has transformed the land at 307 Old Gympie Road into 38 blocks ranging in size from 375m2 to 752m2.

In the early stages of the development application, Inertia played a significant role in the civil and flood engineering across the site, including detailed flood modelling to support all the proposed works. We also supervised the construction works to split off the sub-division site (Lot 101) from the childcare centre site (Lot 37).

While the design was not without its challenges, Calvin Kirk and the team took advantage of running a full tender process in parallel to the detailed design and construction documentation phases to accelerate the project’s timeline.

We then provided full services throughout the project as it moved through the tendering phase and into construction acting as the Superintendent covering Contract Administration through construction

The team successfully negotiated and awarded the construction contract to Thomas Schnieders and DAC Constructions. DAC undertook clearing works (while relocating any Fauna) and before completing bulk earthworks across the site.  And as you can see from the footage, the results are top quality.

Civil Principal, Calvin Kirk, “Inertia is delighted to have completed our first project with Unison Projects’ Jonathan Levy and Shannon Down, and to have delivered a fantastic development site that will become home to families, who will benefit from great local amenities, retail and commercial centres, access to public transport and local schools and medical facilities.“

“Although a challenging site, it goes to show how it is possible to achieve great outcomes by being innovative in terms of project design and site management. ‘Thrive’ is a prime example of how a subdivision project can create outstanding blank canvases for people to build their dream home.”

“The project is a credit to Unison and their commitment to developing outstanding commercial, residential and land projects.”
