Cambridge Hotel Sculpture, Sydney

Inertia were engaged by Urban Art Projects to provide the structural engineering design for this complex art piece which is fixed to an outside wall and hangs down the side of the newly renovated Cambridge Hotel in Sydney. The sculpture consists of five wire framed brass elements connected over 2 storeys to create a 5.5 meter chain of geometric shapes.

Inertia’s structural team are enjoying the challenge of working with brass, which is not a common structural material, and are looking forward to working on more fascinating feature structures such as this.
