The East Village project involved a major (circa 4,000 sqm) extension to the existing centre to house a new tavern, pharmacy, Subway and car parking as well as other speciality shops.
The main challenges included integration of the existing buildings and reducing costs of the structure to fit budget requirements. Inertia changed the structural wall design from concrete tilt panels to lightweight framing to better suit the constrained site. Inertia worked closely with the developer and builder to ensure the most practical solutions were proposed.
Inertia managed to deliver the structural tender documentation of the extension within two weeks of being commissioned to meet the developer’s timeframes.
