Bulk Earthworks design at Swanbank complete

We recently completed the design of an earthworks pad, as well as road access and stormwater infrastructure for a landfill site at Swanbank for Bio-recycle Australia. The site was very challenging and contained underground fires (spontaneous combustion), large changes of grade and environmental constraints.

We worked tirelessly to deliver a strong alignment design of the road, from both a horizontal and vertical perspective, which reduced the disturbance of certain areas on site and maintained the balance of the earthworks.

We minimised the cost, as well as operational and maintenance costs, by changing the initial concept stormwater design to incorporate materials readily available on site.

This particular work required a very different approach to the way we design, and required more flexibility.
