Leadership Team

Scott Clements

Managing Director

As Managing Director, Scott leads our vision to become the most connected and creative consultancy, whereby our service and solutions will leave a truly positive and lasting impact on the industry and our communities. His passion lies in seeking and providing opportunities for his team and partners, whilst both challenging and supporting them to exceed their goals.
Scott’s background and experience include both civil and structural engineering design, finance, marketing and construction across a range of projects from housing to industrial and commercial as well as large stadiums. He leverages his wide range of skills and knowledge to explore and deliver the optimum solutions for our clients and project partners.
Highly competitive by nature, Scott loves to challenge the Inertians in any and all extracurricular activities. Inevitably, he is the reigning champion of our Ping Pong tournament, an active Run Club member and always front of the pack in Group Training.

Sean Stacey

Group Lead - Commercial

Over 20 years of working as a structural engineer across Australia and abroad, Sean has delivered a range of successful building developments, with a particular focus on health and aged care, education, fit outs, retail, and the arts sectors.
Sean excels in his ability to collaborate and communicate with clients, architects, and other project stakeholders to deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions. He is also an experienced leader, having led many project design teams from the initial concept through the design phase to completion of site works and handover.
Sean is known for his positive can-do attitude around the office, having won the Inertian of the Year Award back in 2021 after being with us for only six months.

Emma Clements

Group Lead & Principal Engineer - Land & Water

Emma brings over 20 years of local and international experience to our water and land engineering projects. Her extensive background in hydrology and water engineering covers water quality studies, modelling, flood studies, water-sensitive urban design, disaster management and analysis.
Emma works with developers, architects, and planners on a range of mixed-use developments in Queensland. She is passionate about identifying a site’s land and water opportunities and constraints to help create the development footprint, while respecting the local topography and surroundings. Emma loves guiding her clients on the importance of protecting our waterways, while helping them maximise their yield.
Cycling, running, swimming you name it – Emma loves staying active and is one of the more regular members of our Run Club. Don’t try and race her because you will lose.

Ryan Llewelyn

Group Lead - Land & Water

Throughout his career, Ryan has developed impressive skills as a team lead, project manager, design manager and site supervisor on residential and commercial land developments and civil infrastructure projects.
With a focus on urban development, Ryan has an in-depth understanding of the full project lifecycle from feasibility and development application to construction and project handover. His areas of expertise include project management of complex multi-disciplinary projects, master planned communities, strategic planning and project controls, client and stakeholder engagement, and contract administration.
Known for his slick man bun and fast-paced walks around the office, Ryan is a man on a mission. This energy is matched at home in trying to keep up with his young daughter – the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, hey?

Dave Kelly

Principal Engineer - Industrial & Residential

Dave is the Founding Director of Inertia, which he established in 2005 after realising the industry’s need for small-to-medium sized consultancy firms that provide a professional and personal service. Dave is one of Southeast Queensland’s most highly recognised housing engineers. He is experienced at working on low-rise projects including renovations, new houses, townhouses, retaining walls, childcare centres and other lightweight structures.
Known for loud shirts and a personality to match, Dave always has us belly laughing with his adventurous tales. Fittingly, he is the Chairman of our Culture Committee, driving the People & Culture pillars to make Inertia a great place to work.

Emma has over two decades of experience working in business development roles within the construction industry. Some of her key roles over the years have included human resources, marketing, office management and event coordination to name a few. You could say she is a Jack (or a Jess) of all trades.
A bit of a plant mum, book worm and eco-warrior, her core purpose at work is to create a work environment that is warm, inspiring and fun, ensuring we in turn attract staff who are the right fit for Inertia.
