Industrial Project Success on Bellwood

Inertia is thrilled to be providing the structural engineering for the monster industrial development on Bellwood Street, Darra, which can be described as 7 projects in 1. Sprawled across a steep 16,000m² site, this project consists of 7 separate structures, including office buildings, industrial units and showrooms.

Each structure comes with its own set of challenges and requirements, which made pulling all this together on one cohesive site was significantly complex. However, our team managed to do so while also maximizing design efficiency and minimising costs by refining the precast panels to make them as thin as structurally possible, and by providing an economical structural solution to the fire protection requirements triggered by the unique use of a three-storey building for storage.

We were able to achieve this in such a tight timeframe through close collaboration with Thomson Adsett Architects, Jamieson Projects, Bartley Burns Certifiers and other project consultants. As we commence the construction phase over the next few months, we will keep you updated on the progress.
