Meet our Associates – Josh Falco
Josh is a Chartered RPEQ professional with over 16 years of experience in the construction industry, working on a diverse range of projects from large-scale retail, commercial and defence through to industrial, education and residential developments.
“I started my career as a structural drafter, but after a few years, I decided I wanted to make the switch to engineering. The transition from drafter to engineer was hard and it ended with me being made redundant. It was the best thing that ever happened to me”, said Josh.
He now leads our Industrial team, where his design experience allows him to deliver projects in an efficient and economical fashion, while his excellent communication skills ensure that clients and project stakeholders stay informed of project updates and potential solutions.
“Over five years ago I got a job at Inertia as an engineer when we were just 20 people strong. One of the first big projects I had the chance to work on was Midtown Centre, which I was lucky enough to be a part of from early design through to construction. Stepping into the Industrial Lead role over the past 2 years, we have delivered over 100 jobs and grown to an awesome team of 12”
“There are two main things that I love about Inertia. The first one is the culture and atmosphere. Seeing the way our Inertia Culture Committee has kept the same great culture from 20 through to over 70 people is really special. The second is the opportunities we are given here. You have the ability to grow how you want to and when you want to.”
We often joke that Josh is almost too trendy and hip to be an engineer, and while he enjoys some of the finer things in life, nothing beats a day at the beach with his wife and kids.
