Inertia Connect 2024
Inertia Connect is a day for us to step away from work, connect with one another, and have some fun. It’s designed to bring our people together to bond on a more personal level, leaving the work at our desks and focusing on learning, growing, and enjoying each other’s company. This event encourages our Inertians to step outside their comfort zones and embrace creativity. It offers the chance to discover new things about each other while working together in an outdoor environment where personal connections take center stage, rather than the typical focus on work.
This year, our Inertians took part in the first-ever ‘Great Inertian Race,’ an exciting day spent exploring Brisbane! Teams travelled all around the city using only walking, public transport, scooters, or bikes, completing special challenges and earning points along the way. And, of course, our Inertians absolutely crushed it!
The day began at Inertia HQ with a conversation about the company’s history and our people, followed by a creative construction challenge that asked, “What do you see as Inertia’s legacy?”
After that, the main event—the Great Inertian Race—kicked off. Challenges included finding artworks and tiny doors around the city, filming workout videos using public gym equipment in parks, swimming across the pool at South Bank, spotting Inertia’s projects around town, and much more. Teams collaborated to plan routes and complete as many challenges as possible.
We stopped for lunch at the Plough Inn in South Bank before wrapping up the day with drinks and awards at Covent Garden in West End.
The day was truly a success, thanks to the hard work of our ICC. Organising such an incredible event was no easy task, so we extend a huge thank you to Luke Grzesiczak, Emma Skea, Dave Kelly, Brittany Collins, and Jessica Heath for their outstanding effort in making this day possible.
