GPS Rugby & Valleys Cricket Clubhouse
The $3.4 million redevelopment of the GPS Rugby & Valleys Cricket Clubhouse involved a refurbishment of the existing clubhouse building, featuring a new glazed entrance structure. The project also included the demolition of the existing administration buildings to make way for modern staff and merchandise offices, along with state-of-the-art gym facilities for the club’s use.
A key feature of the new structure is its roof, sitting at 6.7 metres tall – more than double the original building’s height of 3 metres. Achieving this required removing the building’s central portion. To accommodate the large open spans and support the higher walls, custom-designed portal frames were integrated to provide lateral bracing.
