Structural Principal Adds Iconic Global Experience To Inertia

We are delighted to announce Phil Latham’s appointment to the role of Structural Principal at Inertia, where he will add significant global and local experience to our team.

With a career spanning two decades, Phil has worked in the UK, Middle East and Australia across a range of iconic projects in civic, accommodation, leisure, public art and infrastructure sectors as well as advisory roles such as an expert witness. Key Projects have included London’s Wembley Stadium, Ferrari World and Wahat al Jarama in the UAE as well as Howard Smith Wharves, Flinders Street Mall, Springfield Station and Westin Darwin Resort closer to home.

Phil holds a Masters in Interdisciplinary Design for the Built Environment (IDBE) from the University of Cambridge, a Masters of Engineering Science in Structural Engineering from the University of New South Wales and a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from the University of Sydney.

He is registered with National Engineering Register (NER), Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ), Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) and Chartered Engineer UK (CEng). Phil also holds memberships with the Institution of Structural Engineers (MIStructE) and Engineers Australia (MIEaust).

Phil is also a Director of the not-for-profit organisation CROSS-AUS. Confidential Reporting on Structural Safety – Australasia (CROSS-AUS) is a confidential reporting scheme to capture and share lessons learned from structural safety issues which might not otherwise have had public recognition, with the aim of preventing future failures. www.cross-aus.org.au

Current Principal Mario Darmanin has taken up a new role with the organisation, leading our major projects in Melbourne as we continue to expand our portfolio of works in Victoria and providing Mario with the opportunity to relocate to be closer to his family.
