Inertia Welcomes QUT Undergrad Adam Iervese

Since Civil Principal Calvin Kirk’s beard has been looking rather grey lately, we thought it was a perfect time to bring in someone with a bit more youth. Inertia is excited to be supporting QUT undergraduate student Adam Iervese throughout the duration of his work experience.

Calvin recognises that these young guns need to cut their teeth, and we are excited to do our bit in supporting them through the transition from studying to the real world. “The Civil team have been as busy as ever lately, so we have very much enjoyed having an extra helping hand around the office. A key part of our recent growth has been our investment in talented graduates who will help us to build our business as they build their careers. There is nothing better than helping a new engineering graduate to put their skills into practice!”

On the cusp of graduating from his Bachelor of Engineering degree, with a major in Civil and a minor in Environmental, Adam has been helping the Civil Team across a number of projects in different sectors. He has also been working alongside Inertia’s Site Manager Mick Briais, venturing out to site for some civil inspections on a few of our major land-subdivision projects and making sure everything is in clearance.

“It is a great opportunity to put the past 4.5 years of study into action, and to get some insight into how firms in the industry operate day-to-day. I am looking forward to learning as much as I can from the experienced team here and making the most of this opportunity,” Adam says.

We wish Adam the best with his placement as he undergoes the rigmarole of understanding what we do here every day.
