First Stage at ‘Parklands at Clarendon’ Nearing Completion

We are delighted to share these fantastic drone shots of the very nearly completed Stage 1a of ‘Parklands at Clarendon‘. Inertia has been providing all civil engineering services for this rural residential subdivision located within the beautiful Somerset Regional Council, and we are very pleased with how well the finished product sits in the natural environment with limited clearing.

Our Civil Principal Calvin Kirk explains, “Parklands is one of those projects which is a joy to be involved with. Applying our trade out of the city, literally in the bush is very rewarding. The size of the development is hard to gauge but to give you a better idea there is almost 2km of roading just in Stage 1A.” The master plan of the site below will also give you an idea of the magnitude of this project, which is spread over 101 hectares of pristine South East Queensland land.

We have also recently gained OPW approval for Stage 1B with works commencing on site by RDS Civil as we speak. “I really drove the design of Stage 1B to capitalise on the learnings from 1A. I revisited the stormwater calculations, lifted the roads and reduced swale depths which in turn has reduced the amount of clearing and cut disturbance outside of the road corridor. I’m also still working with Council to reduce (or maybe even remove completely) the bio-retention basin from the original Site Waste Management Plan proposed by others. Watch this space on that!”

“The next stages have some really nice topography which will be enjoyable to work with. I’ll be walking those sections soon. We also have significant intersection upgrades at the southern end with both Council and DTMR, so plenty of work to go yet!”
