Growing Gold Coast Experience Leads to Major Project Success

Inertia is delighted to have recently won two major projects located in Pimpama in Northern Gold Coast, and have already achieved a fantastic project win resulting in significant savings for the client.

Karingal Drive comprises 48 green title lots delivered in a single stage. Civil Principal, Calvin Kirk, believes the win is testament to Inertia’s ability to consistently deliver great projects.

“This is a solid number of lots delivered in a single stage and reinforces Inertia’s ability to service small to large subdivision projects and beyond”.

Prior to picking the design up there had been other engineering consultants involved during the DA phase of the project and as such the team has had to unpack old design philosophies before repackaging new solutions. One particular tricky item was proving a previous set of flood results were not consistent with neighbouring studies to avoid the need for a significant drainage infrastructure upgrade. We were successfully able to do so, which is a massive win for this project that we are very proud of.

As the driving force behind this win, Senior Civil Engineer Daley Curran explains, “The best outcome was clear from the start however getting the result through the City of Gold Coast took understanding every facet of the conditions, design, local stormwater, flood, risk and implications completely. Having worked on numerous projects in the Gold Coast region was a benefit as well in knowing how they work and what is necessary to satisfy their requirements. I’m just stoked we got there in the end”.

The detailed design of this project is now complete, and our engineers are now assisting Blades Project Services through construction contract negotiation before moving on to contract administration.

The second ongoing development, a 75-townhouse development on Gawthern Drive, is located ‘over the back fence’ to the Karingal Drive project. Inertia is acting as the Superintendent, responsible for contract administration of all civil related items.

Inertia is delighted to be working in this position for Venture Crowd, who we have developed a wonderfully transparent working relationship with.

“With the projects located next door to each other, not only are we solidifying standing in the area but also our relationship with the City of Gold Coast and the Gold Coast Water team. It’s a great little pocket of land and both products have been well received by the market, which makes the developments’ successful for all, and that’s hugely important to us” Calvin says.

As progress is made, we will keep you up to date on the latest news and innovations the team bring to the project.
