Inertian Insight – August Edition

OUR PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

Satellite Hospitals

As part of the Queensland Government’s Satellite Hospitals Program, Inertia has been engaged to provide engineering services for new facilities located in Caboolture, Pine Rivers, Eight Mile Plains and Bribie Island.

The $280 million Australian-first initiative will deliver convenient and community-focused healthcare services in growing urban areas, to alleviate pressure from nearby hospitals. Each site features a single-storey medical building including on-grade carparking.

Inertia worked closely with the design team to create efficient structural framing layouts for the buildings. The project also required fit-for-purpose support solutions to be developed to enable the installation of critical healthcare equipment and services. Furthermore, we had to work closely with the architects, landscape architects and traffic engineers to produce a functional site layout to best suit the steep nature of the existing site conditions at the Eight Mile Plains site.

Thank you to our client Hutchinson Builders for bringing us on board this project.

Parklands at Clarendon

Inertia Engineering is delighted to announce our engagement by ‘Parklands at Clarendon’ to help in the transformation of an old rifle range located within the beautiful Somerset Regional Council. For this development we are providing full civil engineering consultancy services including operational works approvals, construction supervision/contract administration as well as certification of the final civil products.

Located just a short drive away from Rifle Range and Fernvale, the 101-hectare site is set to be transformed into stunning rural home sites ranging in size from 3,593m2 to 9,560m2. Panned for release over 7 stages, Inertia is immensely proud to be involved in the sustainable development of such a picturesque pocket of land.

One key feature of the design is the use of little to no pit and pipework for stormwater drainage, Civil Principal Calvin Kirk explains; “Balancing cut to fill ratios in the rural scenario can take several iterations. We need to be sure the stormwater network is safe under heavy rain events whilst maintaining the balance of how the open drainage network exists off the road shoulder. The design is to elevate the appearance of the land yet present as naturally as possible.”

BACK AT HQ

New Inertia Office

We are delighted to officially announce the expansion of our Inertia offices to the coastal city of Gladstone, Central Queensland!

With the seed planted for opportunities outside of South East Queensland, born and bred local Tim Reynolds decided to make the move back to his hometown earlier this year.

“Gladstone is an undersupplied market with a huge focus on investment in hydrogen developments. People are making their way back to the region, and with that comes a lot of opportunity for our industry. Personally, I love the relaxed lifestyle this town affords. The best description I have heard is ‘Just a 10-minute drive from work, and a 20-minute boat ride to the Reef'”, said Tim, Gladstone Lead.

Meet our Associates

Joining Joshua Falco and Ryan Llewelyn, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Nathan GreenJodie Egan and Jed Michel to our team of Associates.

“These Inertians have shown leadership and high performance in both the technical and cultural aspects of their roles. This is a recognition of their ongoing investment and contribution to making Inertia a great place to work” Scott Clements, Managing Director.

“A business is about its people. There is nothing better than a home-grown hero, someone who gives 100%, who inspires others to embrace the opportunities that come their way” Dave Kelly, Director & Founder.

New Website

The word we chose to wrap-up 2021 was transformation, and it came in the form of so many different aspects of life at Inertia.

Reflecting on this transformation and the opportunies ahead, we are very excited to launch our new website, filled to the brim with the people, culture and projects we are proud of.

A huge thank you to the incredible team of creatives that helped us bring this refresh to life – The Content LabDSR Branding and Social Beast. And to our Inertians for being the best models, of course.
