Inertian Insight – November 2022

OUR PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

Gumdale State School

We are pleased to see the finished product of the brand-new GLA building at Gumdale State School.

Inertia provided civil and structural engineering services under a D&C contract for the extension, comprising eight new general learning areas, two outdoor learning areas, and a large sports store within the three-storey structure. A tiered seating space is included in the building design to facilitate spectators for the adjacent sports courts, and covered walkways to connect the new building to the existing school.

Thank you to our collaborator’s BADGE Constructions and Phillips Smith Conwell for working with us on this project.

AT OUR HEADQUARTERS

Movember Wrap-Up 2022

Thanks to the incredibly generous donations of our extended Inertian family and friends, we have officially raised $13,304 for Movember!

We are absolutely blown away by the result, and so proud of the Inertians below who collectively moved 2960 kilometres to help change the face of men’s health. We already can’t wait for next year’s challenge!

Our donation page is still open if you wish to make any last-minute contributions.

No Eyed Deer take the Trivia Cup

After five grueling rounds of trivia throughout the months of October and November, No Eyed Deer once again secured the cup! Different people but the same name, there has got to be some pure luck in that. Smashing the other teams by over 10 points, I guess they well and truly deserve it. Thanks to our ICC (Inertia Culture Committee) for pulling together our best Trivia yet. Until next year!

OUR PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

Midtown Wins Big at the UDIA QLD Awards

Inertians Emma ClementsScott Clements and Ryan Llewelyn attended the UDIA Queensland annual awards and were very excited to see the Midtown Centre, the most awarded project of the day, presented with three awards (Urban Renewal, Commercial/Retail, Construction Excellence).

While ultimately rewarding, it was an extremely complicated and challenging project, with many long days, new techniques explored and complex work on site. Congratulations to our clients, DMANN Corporation and AsheMorgan, who trusted us to provide a critical role in this inspiring and landmark project.

A huge thank you to the whole Inertia team that contributed to this wonderful result. Particularly Scott, Joshua Falco and Kai Xu for their hard (and long) work on the project!
