Bond – Upper Cairns Terrace, Paddington

Designed by Joe Adsett, this 3-storey renovation takes full advantage of the city views from Upper Cairns Terrace with a large rooftop terrace amongst the trees.

As is common on sites with city views, this home sits on a very steep sloping site. This meant that our residential team had to engineer a solution to elevate the rear pool and lawn area so that it matched the floor levels of the house and to ensure it sat above the flood levels. We did this by using suspended concrete slabs on blockwork to achieve a level platform.

Also featured throughout this home are a large 2-storey window and several circular roof voids to allow light flow throughout. The impressive new elements of this structure sit beautifully next to the original home creating a luxurious yet charming space.
