GPS Rugby & Valleys Cricket Clubhouse

This $3.4 million GPS Rugby & Valleys Cricket Clubhouse project is a complete refurbishment of the existing clubhouse building, featuring a new glazed entrance structure. Existing administration buildings were demolished to make space for new staff and merchandise offices, as well as new gym facilities to service the club.

The revamp of the existing clubhouse building posed a few design challenges. The new structure has a roof that sits at 6.7 metres tall, which meant essentially cutting out the middle of the building which sits at 3 metres tall. Due to the large open spans and the new walls extending higher than the existing building, portal frames have been designed to provide lateral bracing.
