Civil Principal, Calvin Kirk, updated us on the latest team news and information, “It has been an exceptionally busy few months for the team, not just in terms of project design and delivery, but in terms of development and skills.”

‘One of the things I am proudest about is how we can support the development of existing team members to achieve their potential and develop their careers”

‘After a stellar year, we promoted Nathan Green to Senior Civil Engineer and Sarfaraaz Sacur to Civil Engineer. It is fantastic to be able to recognise their efforts and to support their long-term career development and I look forward to working with them to continue to raise the bar in civil design and project management,” said Calvin.

“We also welcomed two new members to our team; after supporting Junior Engineer Adam Iervese throughout the duration of his work experience, and we were thrilled to be able to offer him a permanent position as a young Inertian. Secondly, Tim Reynolds joined us in the role of Civil Design Manager after 10 years in the industry. His diverse experience and organisation skills will bring new perspectives to our projects to continue our quest of achieving the best possible solutions.”

Project Updates

Two major projects have recently achieved completion and we and our clients could not be happier with the outcome.

“Completing projects is always pleasing, but the greatest satisfaction always comes from ending a project on the best of terms with a client.”

Construction on Golden Grove in Runcorn was completed in earlier this year, and involved a 31 lot subdivision for Lennium Group. Inertia was involved in all applicable engineering services throughout the project from DA stage and OPW detailed design through to Contract Administration and Superintendency. Inertia is immensely proud to have been part of this project that came in on time and within budget and is grateful to have successfully overcome the complexities of the project with Lennium and Contractor RDS Civil Pty Ltd.

The civil work at Stanworth Rd was completed this month and involved a 90 lot townhouse development for Heran Building Group. Located close to Boondall Wetlands, this project was always going to present challenges when managing flood and stormwater, but through a combined approach involving our flood and civil team we saved the project over $750,000 for the client.

Project Wins

We have also secured a number of major project wins lately, which is a testament to the civil team’s continued growth and performance.  “Winning work is never easy, but at the moment we are benefiting from the hard work we have done in the last few years and the reputation we have built for delivering top quality work, collaboratively in partnership with our clients.”

“I also put significant onus on the team to really deliver through the contract administration (construction) phase as this is where the project really comes to life. I drive the team to stay in front of the progress at the back end and be available to assist as quickly as possible. Over the past couple of years we have really shored up our contract law and administration ability as it is essential to be top of the game in delivery.”

A snapshot of wonderful recent wins include the likes of the below:

  • Karingal Drive – A development of 48 green title lots to be developed in a single stage. This is a significant project and shows a clear shows the level and scale of project we can deliver.
  • Parklands at Clarendon – 101 hectares to be developed across 7 years, with approx. 1 stage delivered per year, a beautiful piece of land and one we are ecstatic the be part of
  • Brickworks Park, Mina Parade – Civil & Structural – The redevelopment of an old indoor soccer stadium in Alderley which will see the site regenerated into apartment blocks & townhouses. A highly complex project involving a 15 m cliff and associated stormwater engineering, complex geotechnics, and soil remediation works.
  • Gawthern Drive – a 50 townhouse site in a complex flood and drainage environment more information coming soon
