South Rock State School

Located in the rapidly expanding area of Yarrabilba, we provided civil and structural engineering services on this $60 million project. This project features 28 general learning areas, a multipurpose hall, sports and playground facilities, a canteen, covered areas, and administrative facilities.

This project faced several constraints, including a sloping site that required careful planning to ensure access and connectivity. Through detailed interrogations of building levels, pathways, and footpath alignments, we addressed these challenges. Rising material and contractor costs added another constraint, but by minimising material usage across earthworks, retaining walls, concrete, structural steel framing, and the use of efficient lightweight roof and wall designs, we achieved an estimated $600,000 in savings.
