TC Beirne, Fortitude Valley

Located in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley, the Valley Heart Portfolio consists of the historic TC Beirne Building, Burlington Building, Chinatown Car Park and China Town Mall Airbridge. The total site area of buildings is in excess of 9000m2. The retail arm consisted of a refurbishment to the existing TC Beirne and Burlington buildings to create a new centrepiece for food, beverage and retail.

The TC Beirne building is Queensland Heritage Registered and was originally constructed in 1902 with additions and extensions made throughout its life. Due to extensive iterations and use of different structural materials (timber, steel and concrete), Inertia’s structural engineers had to work closely with the builder with quick response times to ensure the architectural and leasing intent was maintained.
