Inertian Insight – March 2023
OUR PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
Next stages under way at Hedley Park Development
It was a busy day in Kilcoy as our team worked through the latest design ideas for QM Properties Hedley Development. Comprising of 440+ lots, in addition to the multiple stages already delivered, Inertia’s Ryan Llewelyn (Associate – Greenfield Lead), Matt Llewelyn (Senior Engineer), Benjamin Moyle (Senior Designer) and QM Properties’ Steve Prowse (QM – Development Manager) and Elliot Barry (QM – Assistant Development Manager) collaborated to refine the Master Earthworks and Lot Layout and to develop designs for the relocation and upgrade of the major road intersection.
Big 4 Caloundra Holiday Park
If you’re looking for one last summer fling before the cooler weather is upon us, this tropical oasis is right at your doorstep located on the Sunshine Coast – Big 4 Caloundra Holiday Park.
Inertia Engineering was delighted to support the park’s major developments with flood, civil and structural engineering services ensuring the pool opened for the Christmas holidays. With integrated water play, shade, and a separate lap zone, new water slides, the pool is three times larger than the park’s previous pool. We will be supporting further developments to the park, including dining and entertainment facilities. We’ll keep you posted as the projects progress on site; in the meantime, book your Easter getaway, there probably isn’t a better place to cool off and unwind.
AT OUR HEADQUARTERS
Inertia Town Hall 2023
On Friday 24 February, we gathered the Inertians for our first Town Hall! Conceived as a follow-up to Inertia Connect held in September, the Town Hall was our opportunity to discuss our vision and goals for the next decade collectively. Our leadership team outlined how, as an organisation, we aspire to be a business driven by the positive impact we make for the people, projects and communities we work with. It was a fantastic session as we shared ideas and explored our key pillars and tactics to help each of us achieve our shared goals.
HEALTH - SECTOR TO WATCH IN THE YEAR AHEAD
Pipelines, Projects and a Healthy Opportunity to Deliver Works Differently
It is an exciting time to be involved in the Health Sector in Queensland as the State Government invests in critical infrastructure to meet the state’s healthcare needs. Fresh from the success of the innovative Australian first $280 million Satellite Hospital Program, which supported new facilities located in areas that included Caboolture, Pine Rivers, Eight Mile Plains and Bribie Island, further investment in healthcare has been announced with key projects being brought to market.
Inertia’s Scott Clements looks at what is next in healthcare investment and how a new approach to design and delivery will ensure the success of the ambitious series of projects.

SUMMER HOLIDAY FEATURE
Juan visits home
The holiday break was a time for creating precious memories as our Inertians recharged to tackle the wonderful year ahead. We joined in festivities together, said goodbye to jet-setting friends and welcomed a newborn into the world. We asked the team to share what their favourite highlight was.
For Juan, Structural Engineer in our Commercial team, his long-awaited holiday was a trip to remember with a total of 83 hours flying time on 13 flights, we thought it worth a special feature as we celebrate his visit back home in Columbia; Juan says, “3 years and 5 months is the time I spent far away from my family, more than 16,000 km away, but finally, I made it back. I had the opportunity to see and share time with them again, hug my mom, receive a blessing from my grandma, and talk about life with my dad. Those were my best Christmas presents.”
