Stanworth Road, Boondall
Inertia worked closely with our Client and other project stakeholders on this 90 lot townhouse development. Initially engaged to provide flood modelling, reporting and civil design for the development application to demonstrate that the proposed development would not cause adverse impacts on the railway corridor that is located downstream. Inertia’s team prepared a 2D flood model to simulate the runoff conditions for both existing and developed conditions to assess the impacts with respect to flood heights, extents and water velocities within the rail corridor. Our flood modelling and design was able to provide a non-worsening solution achieved without the use of site detention (saving the client money) as well as upgrades to Council infrastructure and stormwater design that allowed runoff to escape more efficiently to the Boondall wetlands benefiting the environment, local authorities and residents.
On the back of our success with the development application, Inertia was then engaged for the civil design, documentation, contract administration and construction supervision of the townhouse development. The design includes bulk earthworks, sewer and water, internal road design as well as the widening of Aberdeen Parade.
Moving forward, Inertia will be taking this project through to civil completion, having managed design, the tender process, with Calvin Kirk acting as Site Superintendents and Daniel Gibson and Mick Briais managing the site works as Superintendent Representatives.
