Stanworth Road, Boondall

Inertia provided flood modelling, reporting, and civil design to support the development application for this 90-lot townhouse project. A key focus was demonstrating that the proposed development would not cause adverse impacts on the downstream railway corridor. Using a 2D flood model, we assessed runoff conditions for both existing and developed conditions, delivering a non-worsening solution without site detention—saving the client costs. Additionally, upgrades to Council infrastructure and stormwater design improved runoff efficiency to the Boondall wetlands, benefiting the environment, authorities, and residents.

Following the success of the application, Inertia was engaged for civil design, documentation, contract administration, and construction supervision. The scope included bulk earthworks, sewer and water, internal road design, and the widening of Aberdeen Parade.
