SGCH Carseldine

Inertia is proud to be delivering civil and structural engineering for St George Community Housing’s (SGCH) first interstate project – a social and affordable housing development in Carseldine Village. The project will deliver 152 new homes across two towers with ground-level parking, supported through the Housing Australia Future Fund and Economic Development Queensland.

Given the site’s space constraints of construction occurring boundary to boundary and associated location of civil infrastructure, careful consideration was essential. From the outset, construction costs were identified as critical to the project’s feasibility. Working closely with the builder, our team identified formwork as a major cost driver and developed solutions aimed at removing the requirement for formwork on site, including the adoption of precast concrete walls and columns, and permanent metal deck formwork.

SGCH Carseldine has been awarded a 5 Star Green Star Buildings v1 Designed Record of Achievement.
