Inertian Insight – October 2023
OUR PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
South Rock State School
Inertia Engineering is pleased to see the finished product of the brand-new South Rock State School in Yarrabilba. As we reflect on this incredible journey, it’s time to celebrate the milestones that have transformed this development into a thriving educational hub.
We achieved a significant milestone with Stage One, which was ready and open for the 2023 school year. And more recently, we celebrated the official opening of the school, marking the successful completion of Stage Two. Inertia’s Urban Team Lead, Aaron Knight says, “None of this would have been possible without the dedication of our team and collaboration with ADCO Constructions, their subcontractors and all the project consultants. It was a team effort in providing civil and structural engineering services that have helped shape this project.”
Now, as the finishing touches are put on the landscaping, South Rock State School is truly ready to welcome the next generation of learners and leaders.
VW MacGregor
Inertia Engineering is delighted to announce our involvement of the new VW dealership scheduled to open at MacGregor in early 2024! Engaged by DMC Projects, our civil and structural services are set to lay the foundation for an incredible double storey glass façade showroom, creating the scene for the ultimate car buyer experience!
A huge congratulations to Plan Group Inc. for securing the role as builder for this project. We look forward to sharing more on this project soon.

INERTIANS OUT AND ABOUT
Savills V Inertia
Great business relationships are built on more than just emails and contracts. Camaraderie, healthy competition, and fun are just as important, and they were on display as we caught up with our friends at Savills for some lawn bowls action.
Inertians Scott Clements, Emma Clements, Sean Stacey, Luke Grzesiczak, Kurt Annand, Stacey Reibelt, Ali Kanaani and Adam Iervese took on the Savills crew of Arron Fischer, Lachlan Rigney, Go Takagi, Simon Gazeley, Neil Watson, Sam Spencer, Kylie Fair and Cathy West, before enjoying a casual lunch by the river.
Movember Launch
Inertians Priscila Resende Nunes and Luke Grzesiczak got to ‘mo’ Joshua Penollar and the incredible Movember team at the Annual Movember Campaign Launch, celebrating a ‘hair raising’ 20 years of this global men’s health movement!
Inspired and motivated, the pair are now ready to spark a conversation and drive awareness about crucial issues like mental health, suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer. Mark your calendars, because next week those iconic ‘hairy caterpillars’ will be making their triumphant return to Inertia HQ! We’ve got a whole bunch of exciting initiatives lined up for the month of Movember, so stay tuned!
Annual Golf Day
Flashback Friday! Inertians swung back in time at our annual Golf Day at McLeod Country Golf Club, rockin’ denim, neon, and grunge vibes! Bringing 90s fashion and their A-game to the course, all for a chance to win the coveted title of Happy Gilmore, which went to Huseyin Ozdemir for being awarded for the longest drive! And the fun didn’t stop there, we have more winners to celebrate:
- The Wedge Award – Closest to the Pin: Tyler Brown
- Bogey Award – Wooden Spoon: Draw with Team – Emma Clements, Dan, Codey Stonier, Trent Buffett and Team – Juan Mantilla, Tshiring Sherpa, Susan Stephens, Luke Walton
- The Great White Shark Award – Best Score (winner): Honeylette Mia Ferolin, Darcy Kelly, Blake McCurdy, Dahiana Molina
- Best Dressed 90’s Theme: Stacey Reibelt
A huge thanks to Luke Grzesiczak, Kate Heliotis, and Dave Kelly for pulling this one together; our Inertia Cultural Committee are certainly committed to making these events unforgettable.
Civil Engineers in the Greenfield Team
In the bustling world of buildings and infill civil engineering – innovation, collaboration, and dynamic teamwork are the keys to success. At Inertia Engineering, these principles define our dedicated Urban Team within the Land and Water Group. With a diverse mix of genders and a multicultural environment, we celebrate the rich tapestry of backgrounds and experiences that each team member brings to the table. We caught up with Inertia’s Urban Team Lead, Adam Iervese and Senior Civil Engineer, Casey Shea, as they share their insights as valued Inertians and describe the vibrant culture and values that define our company.
