Alfred Street, Fortitude Valley

Inertia provided structural engineering for the extension and renovation of an existing heritage-listed building in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. The design for this project was very unique, as the first two levels of the extension were connected to the existing structure, while the top two levels extended above and hung over the heritage building.

It also took an environmentally friendly approach by using Wagners’ new ‘Earth Friendly Concrete’ product, which significantly reduced CO2 emissions from polluting the environment. In fact, it was the first multi-storey building in the world to use zero cement geopolymer concrete!

We worked closely with Mettle and Trapp Architects to bring this impressive project to life.
